One of the best things about Christmas? Loads of awesome writers who I haven't heard of in a very long time posted Christmas fics. *beams* I'm so looking forward to reading them! :D

Sorry for having been rather quiet recently, but I have a couple of very good excuses:

• I made Christmas cookies with teh_farmer. Those of you who know me are aware that I can't bake to save my life. Cooking works fine, but baking always ends up in a disaster. Especially when I try out things for the first time. However, this time was different! We made cookies that look like breads with butter (and some cut chives on top) and are therefore called "butter breads", and they turned out to be exceedingly awesome. :D
  
  
  
  
• For the first time in my life I managed to buy all my Christmas presents before the big rush. :D All I have left to do is to arrange my grandparents' presents in the gift basket I organised for them, and to wrap all the other presents before I drive to my parents' tonight. GO ME! :D
  
  
• I'll also be able to fulfil at least one wish from every Christmas Wishlist you guys have linked me to! Meaning I'm going to spam your flists later today, so ye be warned. ;)

I will be about on and off over the next few days - we are spending Christmas and Boxing days at home (with a visit to the in-laws in the afternoon), and going to my sister's for a few days on Dec 27th for a second Christmas.

I hope you all have a wonderful festive period, with as much food/peace and quiet/raucous jollity/presents/alcohol as you require, and that the Cliff Richard is kept to the bare minimum. To get the party started, have ( some mulled wine and Christmas cake )

This GQMF is second only to Marky B in Milan's charity auction of signed D&G photos. (And he doesn't count, as he only has one bid: someone's just plain greedy.) I am almost tempted to bid on Abbiati, just to make him feel better, bless him - but I am saving my pennies for next month, when Sandro and Quackers get theirs done.

Not only has Ebi got himself a team, he's also making hot adverts for Pepsi, in which he shows off with a football and a mobile phone. I think he's had a haircut, he's looking good.

I came across ( this picture today. ) I know they're not, but if you glance quickly at it, it totally looks like they're holding hands. So I've been, you know. Glancing quickly at it on and off all day. I less-than-three them an awful lot. And if anyone stumbles across pictures of them playing mixed doubles with Wozniacki and Kournikova I would pay good money for them. Well, I wouldn't, as I'm saving my pennies for Sandro, but I'd gush all over you a lot. Which is just as good, y/y/mfy?

Spent the day watching movies and knitting- my brother requested a scarf for (late) Hanukkah, so I'm working on it for him. Black and dark green. Now it's about the length of my arm after starting it on Wednesday, so it's coming along well, I think. Too bad it missed the giant snowstorm hitting him in New York right now.

I re-watched Best in Show, which is available immediately on Netflix, because I felt like it and it's just an awesome movie that makes me happy.

I also watched JCVD, which was surprisingly good. It stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean-Claude Van Damme, an aging action star whose career is going in a downward direction, who just lost his kid in a custody battle. He returns to Belgium and gets caught in a holdup of a post office, and the police think that he's the one actually doing the heist. It is actually very good, and Van Damme is a surprisingly excellent actor- wonderfully melancholy, expressively weary. As odd as it is to say, I'd love to see him in more actual movies after this.

Also, did you all see Cesc and Phil sitting together at the Arsenal game yesterday? They had hats on. Adorable.

I was all set up to roast bluefish and potatoes together in olive oil with garlic and pepper.

And then my oven caught fire.
